The Fappening - Now a community!

This thread - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1874 - made me realize there isn't a link to get from the forums to the albums portion of the site. I think that would be useful, would it not? Something in the header?

Unless I'm completely missing it, and there is a link somewhere, which is entirely possible. lol

Right now, the pair of boobies in the header go to the forums index page. Why don't you make the left boobie jump to the forums index and the right boobie jump to the the albums?

Well, that would involve editing the PHP script header, and that runs us into the same problem I'm having with installing mods. I hope everyone likes the link I was able to add, though. I'm also considering one that links to the Updates page root has. What do you guys think?

Considering some of the limitations you have with the phpBB platform, it looks like a good addition.

I think you should get rid of the "Official/Confirmed Leaks" folder though. It was one of the first folders created, and has only one post dating back to the almost the start of this site. The topic probably fits under the Leaks area if we wanted to keep it. Edit: actually, move the post to "Real or Fake?" since the replies were not sure whether the pics were real or not.

Then add root's update page as the third link, and maybe call it TheFappening.sexy Update Page, with the description "This links over to TheFappening.sexy domain update page updated by root!"

This would keep the Administration area clean, and we'd end up with:

Administration

Announcements

The Official Fappening Albums

TheFappening.sexy Update Page

I like wip's idea too to replace the Official/Confirmed with a link to the updates page. Good idea to have an updates link too, LFM.

Just a thought, but the Other section and the three folders really fit in with the Community section.

The Help is for the community for help each other with the site, and Suggestions/Feedback is used by the community to improve the site. Personally, I think that the Off-Topic threads probably fit under General Discussion anyways. Keep in mind that General Discussion already tells people to "Talk about anything here". We would end up with a Community section that looks like this:

Introductions

General Discussion

Help

Suggestions/Feedback

But if we keep Off-Topic separate, I'm good with it as well, perhaps like this:

General Discussion

Help

Suggestions/Feedback

Off-Topic

Anyways..... Definitely like the idea about the Official/Confirmed folder. Doing that in a moment. As for the Community section, I'm gonna keep "Off-Topic" exactly where it's at. I believe the idea of the Community being about the nudes or, in the case of the forum software/issues itself, about the forum. General Discussion is about the Fappening itself; finding out what happened, how to prevent another, Wish Lists, and the like. I just don't see Off-Topic as being a major part of that community. I wouldn't think mixing OT with GD would be too good an idea, either. With that said, I'll get a few more things moved around.

EDIT: Alrighty. Everything's been moved around a bit better, and descriptions have been updated. Let me know what you guys think!

I like the new organization.

It did make me think of a new suggestion - the ability to "collapse" categories. Like if I wanted to make the Community section just the one line and close or collapse the other categories under it into just one line. Then open it back up again if I wanted to view all of the subforums contained in the Community section. make sense?

It's probably another of those mods that we'd have to wait for, if it's even possible, but just throwing out the idea since it came to me.

I'll concede to your points about Off-Topic. However, I think we're looking great, and the descriptions are much better!

How about changing it so when you click on a link to another site it opens in a new window/tab? I usually just CTRL click links now, I usually never want to leave the page I'm on, especially if I'm just looking at a pic someone uploaded. Not a big deal, obviously, but an annoyance. Maybe it's just me.

So, the main phpBB site is down, so I can't even look into the mods right now. As soon as it comes back up, I'll start looking for the collapsible forum headers. As for a new window/tab, that's once again php coding, and I don't have access to that. Unless there's a mod for it.
